My Momma's Dividends

Today is my mother's birthday.  Always a day to miss her even more than usual.  She was a lover of God, babies and books.  This week two of her "dividends" started to kindergarten Carter and Leslie.  She would be so proud of them. Two more of her "didvidends" have been added to the family since her last birthday, Isaiah and Ava.  Oh how she would love those two!!!  So if we as a family can do something to remember her and honor her today try this: lead in example by loving God, babies and books and teach the next generation to do the same.  We love you and miss you Mom!

Pool Time

 Livie is a swimming guppy..."Bubbles?"
Carter is a guppy with a tail!
 Guppies have to look good!
We call Isaiah... Hue...He just likes to lay back and chill out!
The end...ha!

Can it be true?

Can these two babies really be starting Kindergarten this week?

Isaiah and the Magic Blanket

Posted by PicasaSome babies have a pacifier.
Some babies have a stuffed animal.
Some babies have a thumb.
Isaiah has his magic blanket.
His Aunt Vickie knitted this beautiful blanket for him before he was born.
I wonder if she knitted some magic into it.

New Kitchen

I just realized that I had not posted about the new kitchen. So thought I'd put one picture post construction. It looks even better now with a few items added. Later I'll get a current picture taken. So glad I'll be starting back to work with a working kitchen.

Hair Club for Men

This wonderful man is not bothered by the fact that he is bald. (I love it) Bald jokes don't phase him.  No comb-overs for him. So when I saw this hat it was a must buy.
I love him so much!!!!

I Haven't Forgotten How to Cook!

No my kitchen is not finished!
I made this delicious breakfast on the campstove outdoors this morning.
We had pancakes with fresh blackberry sauce, bacon and hashbrowns.
We even ate outdoors.  It was wonderful!!!
I thought maybe I had forgotten how to cook after being "kitchenless" for over two months!

Baby

Yesterday I encountered this tiny creation.  I was so thrilled that I almost cried.  To give you an idea of the size of this little guy, he would easily fit in the palm of my hand and stands no taller than 3 inches.  It is Spring!

Lover of George

Olivia's favorite stuffed animal is George. She sleeps with him every night. When I found this Mardi Gras necklace I just had to get it for her.

My Dad

Today is the anniversary of my dad's death.
It has been so long ago.
The memories of that difficult time linger.
I was young, in college and believed that my dad was indestructible.
Then I watched as his body fought for life.
Day by day he lost the battle.
Little did I know about the pain of loss until that March day.
This week a friend of mine lost her father...
grief bubbles up at the thought.
How many times in my adult life
have I longed for his wisdom......
countless.

Remember to treasure those you love now.
So you may treasure their memory
 without
 regret
 later.

I miss you daddy!

Lily and Kitty

Soft and sweet... I think Lily is enjoying her new home in the country.

Hooter Hider

I made a new nursing cover for Jaime while I was in Colorado. We didn't want Isaiah to hide under a pink one! I used the one she already had as a pattern. It took less than an hour to make. I think it turned out really good.

Meet Little

I spent last week with Jaime and her family. I got to meet Isaiah. Carter calls him "Little." He is precious. I'm thinking that if he grows into his feet, Carter won't be able to call him "Little" for long.

Kitchen Remodel Ideas...I need your help!!!

Posted by PicasaI am finally starting to wrap my brain around the fact that I MUST do this kitchen remodel....
thanks to the flood of 2011.
I found some great kitchen ideas at marthastewart.com
and her cabinet line is available at homedepot.com
I'd love to have your feedback on them.
The sixth picture in the collage is just a cool moveable cabinet I thought would be great next to my refrigerator so it doesn't really count.
Look at the first 5 and tell me what you think.
Of course the cabinets do come in other finishes.
There are things I love about each kitchen.
I wish there was the perfect combination
I could just hand a picture to the contractor and say ...
"Do this."
 Wishful thinking :)
