Beauty Shop

Sometimes I put the girls up on the kitchen counter and wash their hair in the sink.  I remember my momma doing that for me when I was little....sweet memories that I would like to pass on to them. Ava loves the attention she gets when we  play "beauty shop."

Garden Grandmaw's Girls

We planted our garden last week.  The girls were so excited. I am hoping that they will be more open to eating the vegetables that they grow.

Turning a new page

I recently visited my blog.  I can't believe it has been two years since I posted.  Well life has been very busy.  Raising three grands and working full time has left little free time. SOOOOOO I am retiring in a few weeks.  I plan to blog again to help journal our life so that the grands will have a record of adventures and maybe someday be able to look back and tell how much Don and I love them.  So expect to hear about everyday life at the homestead.

Rosy's Peach Pie

There were so many good things about this summer but this might be the culinary highlight.
I got this recipe from my sis-in-law Rosy

Fresh Peach Pie

1 1/2 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1 small pack peach jello
2 or more cups of fresh peach slices

cooked pie crust
Cool whip

Combine water, sugar cornstarch and jello.  Stir to dissolve.  Microwave 8 minutes.  (I have to watch carefully to prevent boil over)  Pour over sliced peaches in cooked pie crust.  Refrigerate until firm.  Serve topped with Cool Whip.
