This morning while I was doing breakfast duty in the cafeteria, I experienced this conversation. Child A, a first-grader, said, "Mrs. Williams are you going to have a baby?" (while he pointed to my tummy) Child B, a second-grader said to him, "No man! Mrs. Williams is WAAAYYY too old to have a baby!" I don't know which comment had the most sting but I do know I won't be wearing this shirt to school anymore!!!!! (Maybe I need to go on a diet NOW!!) TOO funny...boy I have to add this one to my book.
You better get started on that book! Miss you friend!
ReplyDeleteWe went and saw a house this morning and the real estate agent said (in front of Theo regarding Olivia) "She's gorgeous but I can't believe she's so white!" Ha! And she was a grown up. Some people just don't know when to keep their mouth shut :)
ReplyDeleteMe thinks it may be time for Weight Watchers!!
ReplyDeleteI get things about my age at work all the time. I know they don't realize how some things are taken ...expecially when they mean them as a compliment.
You can understand with children because they haven't learned what is appropriate.
But the realtor is some kind of stupid. She must not need to make a sale!!
Yes I know some people who never have learned that they aren't to say everything they think!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to be a teacher! I already get some interesting comments from my own kids. lol
